Recess Mentoring

Recently at the last recess of the day, fifth graders and first graders were playing games together. Some kids were playing basketball, while others were playing tag and four square. It was awesome to see the older kids teaching younger kids how to play well together.

Spring Fun in Kindergarten

by Alexa C.

Ms. Rall's class had a fun Easter egg hunt before the Easter break. Each student had to find eggs that had the first letter of their first name and last name and their assigned sight word and number. Parents were helping the kids find the eggs, and the kids were having lots of fun.

Afterschool Club...Croquet...

We caught Mr. Pride teaching his 2, 3, and 4 graders croquet today...

Great Job, Breanna.

Our very own Breanna F. was the youngest actor in the Loyalsock High School
musical, The Sound of Music.  Breanna sang with the high school students and did
a wonderful job performing her favorite part of the musical, "The Goat Herd" song.
The audience was packed friday night.
If you look closely....Breanna is the actress next to the actress
who played Maria.  She may look small on stage, but she gave
a HUGE performance...
Roll Call...Breanna, you made us Schick Proud.

Our own VonTrapp

The HALLS are alive with the Sound of Music....

Our very own Breanna F. is performing in the Loyalsock High School Musical, The Sound of Music.  Breanna's role is that of Gretle VonTrapp, the youngest of the seven children, portrayed in the play.

Breanna says, "My favorite part is when Maria (the oldest sister) is getting ready for bed and we (the VonTrapp children) are singing The Goat Herd song.

Hey Bre, break a leg!

Scientists Don't Say 'Ewwww'......

Kindergarten Scientists informed Mr. Greevy today that "Scientists don't say, Ewwww..."

Schick Scientists were making bricks as part of the FOSS unit, Pebbles, Sand, and Silt , students made bricks with Mr. Wayne Sheppard and his students from PCT majoring in construction management. First grade students have been learning about earth materials ranging in size from silt to boulders. Students have screened rocks by size and learned the different characteristics of rocks. Yesterday students were making their own bricks using clay, straw and water. Mr. Sheppard explained about the differences in bricks and how bricks are made in factories.
Kindergarten students were planting seeds, observing fish and frogs in their natural environments, hatching chicks, and feeding earthworms.....(don't say "Ewwwww.....").
Third Graders were making Goop, making weather vanes and discussing climate.
