Backpack, Backpack....

How does that song about backpacks go from the cartoon Go, Diego, Go sound? Well, did you check out today's Sun-Gazette? Mrs. Cooley looks like she is singing that song--Backpack, Backpack...check it out!!! What a wonderful gift from the congregation of the Faxon Kenmar United Methodist Church and Mr. David Brinker. Forty-seven new backpacks were collected by the church to be donated to the school to give to needy students. Thanks, Faxon Kenmar!

A big THANKS to Mr. Enders....

Mr. Ben Enders, the Loyalsock Township School District's District Accountant, has been a HUGE help the beginning of this school year, as he has been walking up to Schick at the beginning of the school day and at the end of the school day to help direct the back parking lot traffic. Mr. Enders gets the Schick Star-of-the-Week for his efforts and his help.

If you take a look at the picture above you'll see Mr. Enders blowing off some steam on our parking lot after the on-slaught of traffic went down last Wednesday gone down....he's a jumprope jumping pro...

Display Case Back in Order

That LTSD Maintenance staff is at it again--improving our school. The old display case that was used years ago in the old Four Mile School is back and now BRIGHTER than ever. The maintenance staff work hard this week to run electricity to the beautiful oak display case. The lights work and Mr. Rhoads, Mr. Greevy, Mrs. Cooley, Mrs. Pagano are chomping at the bit to fill the case with "SCHICK-TABULOUS" Treasures which showcase Schick Accomplishments. We're hoping to find a digital picture frame to display the daily goings-on of our school. We'll keep you updated.

Open House a Success

Thanks to everyone who made open house a success last evening. Most of the teachers said that they saw about 3/4 of their parents and that parents and students were appreciative of the opportunity to come to school. Thanks teachers. Thanks parents.

Also a HUGE THANK YOU goes out to our "SHICK-TABULOUS" PTO. The PTO was so helpful here last night with Giant Bonus Card sign-ups, box top collections, sweatshirt sales, fundraising, and recruiting new volunteers. Many of those parents are here daily performing whatever is needed. The teachers, parents and administration appreciate their efforts. Thanks PTO.

Our Maintance Staff

The faculty and administration at Schick Elementary School want to thank the efforts of Mr. McStay and the rest of the maintenance staff for keeping our building clean and safe from germs. Mr. McStay, Mr. James Bowman, Mr. Mike Hamilton, and Mr. Jerry Matthews worked feverishly to get the building scrubbed from floor to ceiling and they continue to keep Schick the cleanest building around. Thanks, Guys!
